In this behind-the-scenes look, we’re diving into what inspired the Beauty Capsules, how they were developed, and what makes each formula uniquely powerful with our Head of Brands, Rosie.
What inspired the development of the Beauty Capsules, and how do they align with Dose & Co's mission?
There’s more to skin health than what you see on the outside. Our mission is always to provide clean ingestible beauty solutions for our customers. The Beauty is Cellular® range was born from wanting to promote beauty on a cellular level. The skin is our biggest organ and mirror to what is going on internally, these days we are not getting a sufficient supply of nutrients in our diets naturally, which leads to inflammation, deficiencies and not fuelling our hair and skin with the right ingredients for it to thrive and make us feel our best.
How long did it take to develop from concept to final formula?
The development process took around nine months. The formula changed many times as we needed to review different ingredients and how they worked with each other to get the best results. We also met with many trademarked ingredients suppliers and selected the best performing ingredients with the best clinical studies and claims we could find.
Could you highlight the key active ingredients in Advanced Age Defy and their roles in helping the ageing process?
The hero ingredient in Advanced Age Defy is AstaReal – a potent antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties. It supports skin hydration, elasticity and wrinkles by protecting cells from oxidative stress and free radical damage.
Could you highlight the key active ingredients in Hair Support and their roles in promoting hair health from within?
The hero ingredient within the Hair Support formula is AnaGain™. AnaGain™ is a pea sprout extract that has been clinically proven to 1. Promote the growth of new hair strands and 2. Strengthen existing hair strands. It is also accompanied by a mineral and vitamin blend that contributes to the maintenance of healthy hair.
Could you highlight the key active ingredients in Radiant Complexion and their roles in promoting skin health from within?
The ingredient leading Radiant Complexion’s formula is SkinAx2™. A blend of grape flavanols and collagen boosting vitamins. Clinical data has proven SkinAx2™’s effectiveness on reducing fine lines and wrinkles, improving hydration, and boosting skin elasticity – a proven all-rounder for skin health.
How do these capsules complement our existing range of collagen products?
They are an addition to our current collagen products, you can take both – we recommend it! The capsules are for specific beauty issues so for example if you are struggling with thin, lacklustre hair – Hair Support is for you. If you feel your skin is looking dull and want to boost its appearance – Radiant Complexion. If you want to prevent skin from aging with UV exposure or reduce fine lines and wrinkles – Advanced Age Defy.
Was there a specific problem or need in the beauty space you were trying to solve?
In the ingestible beauty space, there is lots of noise on what you should/shouldn’t take, products full of sugars, bulkers and fillers and how much you should spend etc. We wanted to create a clean label product with no nasties, and with ingredients that have scientific and clinical data that would provide results at an affordable price point. We also didn’t want a create a “one pill will fix all” because everyone's beauty needs are different.
